Google’s own operating system is rapidly growing. Android currently accounts for 47 percent of all smartphones in the UK, doubling up from 23 percent this time last year. This kind of market share means that nearly half of your students and parents with smartphones could be Android based. Android apps will become a very popular choice for schools as more people become aware of the potential market.
Ice Cream Sandwich – Android’s upcoming OS – is due to be released later this year and is expected to heavily compete with Apple’s iOS 5.
